Position: Youth Work Team Leader (3 roles available)

Location: Grimsby (flexible working while construction of the youth zone is underway)

Salary: £28,000 - £31,000

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

About the Role

As a key part of the delivery team, you'll be at the heart of the action, leading the way in one of 3 clubs: Inclusion, Juniors or Seniors. Your mission? To create an exciting, high-quality programme that’s fun, engaging, and truly makes a difference—all while keeping young people at the centre of everything we do. No two days are the same, so you'll need to be versatile, leading the creation of the club offer while supporting both the recruitment and development of the delivery team. You’ll also be responsible for the smooth implementation and operation of the club program whilst supporting the rest of the core Youth Work offer as needed. You’ll be a crucial part of this new youth zone for North East Lincolnshire, welcoming up to 250 young people each session and creating a space where they can thrive.

  • Youth Worker Team Leader (Inclusion): Leading weekly Inclusion, Partnership and project sessions, where external providers bring fresh, exciting activities for members
  • Youth Worker Team Leader (Juniors): Leading the way in the Junior Club for young people aged 8 to 12 years
  • Youth Worker Team Leader (Seniors): Leading the way in the Senior Club for young people aged 13 to 19 (or up to 25 for those with additional needs).

About You

Having a young person focused approach, being passionate about the power and impact of youth work and using it as a vehicle to empower young people to become the very best versions of themselves… is crucial! You will have/have experience of:

  • Creating, developing and leading open-access youth programmes creating a safe environment to deliver engaging programmes for diverse youth demographics (ages 8-19, up to 25 with additional needs/disabilities)
  • Safeguarding, ideally as a designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the safety and well-being of all young people with unwavering commitment and proficiency in related referral processes.
  • Managing clear behaviour standards and managing conflict between young people.
  • Management with a solid understanding of basic HR processes related to people management, attendance, and staff performance.
  • Project management of youth programmes, including H&S requirements, staff scheduling and budgeting having the ability to prioritise deadlines to achieve impactful outcomes.

About the Organisation

This is a brand-new locally run youth charity, set to provide thousands of young people with the opportunity to have fun, make new friends, try something new and feel safe. With community centric values and located in the heart of Grimsby, it will be an inspiring place for young people aged 8 – 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs, to enjoy their leisure. The building is due to be completed in 2025.
