Overview
In this role you guide the financial strategy for Ark UK Programmes, aligning financial sustainability with mission impact. You will own predictive modelling, budgeting, and forecasting to inform cross-functional decision making. Working with the Group Finance team, you’ll assess risks and opportunities to support new ventures and maintain strong financial health. Your work enables scalable social impact through disciplined financial leadership and enterprise performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial performance of Ark UK Programmes and flag risks to enable timely commercial decisions
- Lead budgeting and forecasting aligned with strategic objectives
- Develop an auditable, flexible financial model to rapidly assess the impact of decisions on performance
- Prepare budgets/forecasts and support new ventures with robust financial analysis and fundraising input
- Highlight financial risks to MD and Group CFO and ensure corrective action
- Coordinate monthly management accounts with Group Finance Business Partner and present to senior leadership
- Ensure alignment of sales and financial reporting with income generation and compliance
- Deliver quarterly reports to the AC+ Programme Board and train staff on coding and PO usage
- Collaborate with Group FD/FC to optimize processes, technology use, and resourcing
- Attend Finance & Risk Committee annually to present performance and support governance
- Contribute to statutory accounts preparation for Ark UK Programmes with Group FD/FC
Key requirements
- Professional Accounting Qualification (CIMA preferred)
- Degree-level education or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years in a senior finance role in complex or startup environments
- Strong financial modelling capability and experience building/interrogating models
- Commercial management experience in trading income-driven organisations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial databases
- Experience implementing process improvements and presenting data-driven insights
- Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills
