About the role:
We are recruiting for a Tax Director to lead the tax compliance function at the firm, covering Midlands and London offices.
Overview of duties:
- Responsibility for management of department, including internal training and support of management
- Liaise with internal teams (Accounts, Business Management & Payroll) to ensure client affairs are co-ordinated and delivered efficiently
- Identify areas where more detailed advice may be required and cross refer internally where appropriate
- Manage and navigate HMRC enquiries on behalf of the client
- Provide guidance and assistance to junior members of the team
- Take responsibility of the billing of clients within your portfolio and associated debt collection
Person specification
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Excellent organisational skills to manage workloads, monitor time charges and budgets
- Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork
- Self-motivated and able to apply relevant skills to new scenarios
- Ability to work under pressure with accuracy and focus
- Committed to maintaining technical knowledge to a high level
Education / and or Experience:
- Competent using Xero and accounting software such as Iris or similar
- Cashflow forecasting, tax management and budgetary control experience preferable
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an accountancy practice
- ICAEW/ ACCA (or equivalent) qualified or qualified by experience
