Nexxus Care are seeking an experienced nights senior care assistant to join the team at Meadowyrthe residential home in Tamworth, Staffordshire. Our nights senior care assistants have a range of responsibilities including administrative duties, strategy and organising/leading a team whilst ensuring that we are providing a safe and well led service for our residents and employees.
Duties can include:
- Coordinating with professionals, other staff members, residents and their families to write person centred care plans
- Take responsibility for the shift and the service whilst on duty
- Oversee and monitor care assistants and ensure they are compliant - complete supervisions, spot checks and offer guidance
- Complete medication administration tasks including medication counts, dealing with healthcare professionals and updating other departments of changes where required.
- Liaise with healthcare professionals including pharmacists, GP's and ANP's
- Respond to emergencies and provide guidance and support
- Working alongside other departments to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the home is maintained
- Follow guidance, policies, procedures and regulations to remain compliant
- Remain confidential and promote dignity at all times
About You
Qualities we are looking for:
- Empathetic and compassionate β individuals who are passionate about providing care and support to residents of all abilities
- Strong communicator who has the ability to build rapport and positive working relationships
- Patient and empathetic - Our residents have Dementia and other health conditions that often present as frustrations.
- Resilience - the ability to adapt in emotional and high stress environments without losing a sense of purpose
What we need from you:
- Enhanced DBS check clearance
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- GCSE or equivalent, English
- Flexible to cover shifts required
- Commitment to attending mandatory and update training as well as completion of e-learning
- Physically fit enough to carry out physical care tasks
- Be able to work well as part of a team in communal settings as well as independently
