  • Make thoughtful UI/UX decisions that balance user needs, technical constraints, and development speed
  • Implement and enhance frontend features using React and modern TypeScript frameworks
  • Work closely with the application developers to harness back-end functionality
  • Collaborate with data scientists to visualise complex 3D printing data and sensor outputs
  • Participate in customer interviews to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Optimise application performance for handling large datasets, including point clouds and 3D models
  • Implement robust error handling and monitoring systems for production environments

Required Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as frontend developer
  • TypeScript and one other programming language with frontend environments like React
  • Strong visual design sense and attention to detail in UI implementation

  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a bias toward practical solutions
  • Eligible to work in the UK

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with 3D visualisation libraries (Three.js, WebGL)
  • Experience with design tools (Figma, Sketch, or similar)
  • Some experience on backend work to better understand frontend challenges
  • Experience designing data-dense or technical interfaces (AI/ML focus)
  • Experience with scientific or industrial software development
  • Portfolio demonstrating both design thinking and implementation skills

How to prepare for a job interview at NexusAM

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If NexusAM uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
