As a Storage & Server Architect, you would be a key part of the Infrastructure unit with overall responsibility to design, maintain, and support Storage & Systems hardware, Operating & Virtualisation Software, open source, and application integration.

You would work towards providing a 24/7 support system, ensuring maximum availability of core systems, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.

Additionally, you would ensure that disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP) provisions are in place and tested regularly.

Maintenance of Infrastructure

• Provide storage & server hardware, virtualisation, and service management, enabling technical innovation to create business value and meet company requirements.
• Lead large technology initiatives to build and maintain key infrastructure elements, including 24×7 data centre management, remote access, and enterprise database environments.
• Conduct annual technology and user audits.
• Manage third-party infrastructure services, including hosting, personal computing support, and networking at major locations, according to SLAs.
• Manage all owned servers, switches, firewalls, and routers.
• Maintain appropriate licenses and subscriptions for hardware and software.

IT Governance

• Manage system security, performance monitoring, alerting, backups, and disaster recovery arrangements, ensuring compliance and business continuity.
• Collaborate with the compliance team to develop and enforce information security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Work with Network and Security Architects to ensure security, patching, and secure connectivity with partners and clients.
• Coordinate with Database and Development teams to ensure compute, server, and storage requirements are met with 24/7 availability.
• Conduct annual reviews and internal audits for ISO 27001, 9001, and 22301 standards.

Competency Profile

• Extensive knowledge of data centre operations, network engineering, applications, and production support.
• Technologies include Microsoft Server & Linux OS, mid-tier storage hardware (notably IBM Storage V37xx & V50xx series), infrastructure applications, networking, VMware, firewalls, security, and enterprise SANs.
• Experience with cloud services and provisioning, preferably Oracle Cloud.
• Ability to lead cross-functional projects of complex nature.

The client has offices in Central London; this position is mainly remote.

The salary range is approximately £65K – £80K.
