This primary school are seeking educators to work with a child in Year 2 with Autism. The student is non-verbal and displays very challenging behaviour. They are looking for someone with knowledge of PECS and willingness to do personal care.
Your Role:

Supporting an ASC child on a 121 basis

Ability to use PECS to communicate with non-verbal children

Willingness to do personal care (toileting/nappy changing)

Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption

Providing feedback to teachers and parents

Outgoing and mentoring manner

Previous experience working with non-verbal children using PECS

Ability to work with children known for very challenging behaviour outbursts

Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential

You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same in a school, so being prepared is vital.

Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils, All candidates will be required to undertake a valid enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance will be provided.
