Assistant Accountant

Working as part of an established finance team, you’ll gain broad exposure across day-to-day accounting, month-end, reporting and financial controls.

• Completing daily bank reconciliations and accurately posting transactions.
• Posting journals and supporting the month-end close.
• Maintaining accurate general ledger entries and reconciling key control accounts, including accruals, stock in transit and rebates.
• Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Assisting with variance analysis and KPI reporting across margin, inventory and costs.
• Ensuring financial processes are completed in line with internal policies and controls.
• Supporting internal and external audit requirements.
• Responding to finance queries from stakeholders across the wider business.
• Contributing to finance projects and process improvements.
• Providing wider support to the finance team as required.

About You

We’re looking for someone with practical accounting or finance experience who is keen to broaden their knowledge, develop their technical accounting skills and continue progressing professionally.

• AAT qualification or currently be studying towards AAT, or a relevant Accounting/Finance degree alongside practical accounting experience.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience using accounting or ERP systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience within a multi-currency environment would be advantageous.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with stakeholders across the business.
