Nexus Semiconductor is a rapidly growing specialist recruitment partner in the US semiconductor and power electronics industry, working with some of the most innovative companies in the AI and data center boom.
We have teams across the UK, US and the Philippines, with a growing team in Manila.
Alongside recruitment, we build our own technology.
The tools our team uses every day have been built in-house using AI and code, and some are now being developed for commercial launch.
We're looking for a full-stack engineer to help take them to market.
The Role
This is a hands-on, full-stack engineering role for someone who
- Has built and shipped a Saa S product used by real customers
- Is strong in Type Script across the front end and back end
- Has run production workloads on AWS, not just studied for it
- Uses AI coding tools like Claude Code, Codex or Cursor every day, and knows where they go wrong
- Likes owning things end to end, from database to deployment
- Can explain technical things in plain English
- Wants to get in at the very start of something
You’ll work directly with our Managing Director to build, test, deploy and support a growing suite of recruitment software.
You’ll be the engineer who keeps the code safe, secure and reliable as we move to AWS and onboard our first external customers.
This is not an outsourcing or ticket-queue role - it's a chance to help build AI-native recruitment software from day one, with a real stake in how it's built.
- What You’ll Be Doing
- Building new features across our recruitment tools in Type Script, React and Node. js
- Building and running our AWS environment as code with Terraform (ECS Fargate, RDS Postgres, S3, IAM, Secrets Manager, Cloud Watch)
- Running deployments through Git Hub Actions, with staging and automated checks before anything goes live
- Reviewing and testing code written with AI tools, and catching what they get wrong
- Keeping customer data separate and secure (multi-tenancy, Postgres Row Level Security, access controls)
- Managing database migrations, backups and restore tests
- Building integrations with Microsoft 365, Google, email, calendars and third-party APIs
- Fixing live issues and providing code-level support to users and customers
- What We’re Looking For
- 3-5 years' experience as a full-stack or backend-focused engineer
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar
- Strong Type Script, Node. js and React
- Production experience on AWS: ECS, RDS, S3 and IAM
- Infrastructure as code with Terraform
- CI/CD with Git Hub Actions and Docker
- Daily use of AI coding tools
- Strong testing and debugging habits
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Able to work UK hours on a late shift, with a reliable home internet setup
- Nice to Have
- B2B Saa S, CRM, ATS or HR tech experience
- Multi-tenant application design and Postgres Row Level Security
- Next. js
- Authentication and SSO (Work OS, OAuth, Microsoft Entra, Google)
- Stripe billing
- Security work: fixing pen test findings or answering customer security reviews
- AWS certification
Why Join Us?
- 4-day working week
- Fully remote
- HMO health cover
- Company laptop provided
- Work directly with the Managing Director
- Get in at the very start of products being built for commercial launch
- Access to the latest AI development tools
- High-trust culture focused on quality, detail and doing the right thing
