The aim of the Creative Pitch Co-ordinator/Manager is to build creative teams and develop treatments in response to opportunities, and to maintain Nexus’ creative excellence.
The Creative Pitch Co-ordinator/Manager is responsible for managing the production of treatments and associated pitch materials, helping to ensure that the highest creative standards are achieved and maintained. You will be actively involved in the full enquiry lifecycle and sourcing of creative talent to support pitches, including external talent and the scheduling of internal designers. This is a creative role and you will be hands-on in creative research, briefing and managing creatives and designers during the pitch process and guiding the creative process.
You will work closely and collaboratively with our rostered Directors and with creative and design talent, and report into the EP, Anthony Austin. You will also work closely with all other EPs and dept Heads across Branded Content, Film & Episodic, Experience Design, the Creative Director (Development) and the CCO Chris O’Reilly. You will have the opportunity to develop a broad knowledge and adaptable skills across advertising, entertainment and the intersections between the two.
Working primarily on projects across branded content and branded entertainment, you will be involved in first calls and briefings both from clients and to Directors and Design Studio CDs. You will encourage a culture of creativity, being at the heart of new creative production opportunities from their inception and developing our creative solutions as well as our offering overall.
What you’ll be doing :
Pitch production:
- Establishing the pitch process alongside the EP and CCO, ensuring all relevant parties are aware of their responsibilities and timeframes, assessing/refining the pitch pipeline and associated processes at regular intervals.
- Upholding effective communication to support the creative and design development process, working with the EP and CD team to explore briefs in a constructive and positive way.
- Setting up pitch folders and tools and coordinating through to award.
- Maintaining an ongoing schedule and bringing in additional pitch resource as required.
- Managing and monitoring pitch budgets and actuals, reporting costs to EP for approval.
- Attending Production and EP meetings and sharing treatments.
- Hosting regular pitch meetings to review current enquiries and pitch process.
Resourcing:
- Alongside the resourcing team, research and book staff and freelance crew.
- Building and maintaining a database of artists and crew.
- Keeping track of freelancer terms, contracts and invoices.
Creative:
- Receiving and understanding creative goals of an opportunity and developing the treatment strategy and structure to support this.
- Understanding and assisting the Director’s creative requirements, including image research, and providing guidance where required.
- Collaborating with the Creative Director to source illustrator, designer and art director talent whilst building and maintaining a strong network.
- Setting up treatment decks, partnering with the EP to define a structure based on the client briefing call to ensure all questions related to the treatment are answered.
- Working with the CD and treatment designer to establish treatment structure and layouts.
- Creating capabilities decks and reels for enquiries and new relationships.
- Contribute to the writing of treatments where appropriate.
- Manage, encourage and motivate diverse teams including supporting the growth of our directing and creative talent.
- Stay abreast of current creative trends and provide guidance and inspiration.
- Keeping up to date on the latest Nexus work and partnering with the CCO & CD to curate the content for the Nexus Studios website.
What you will bring :
- Experience in the film or production industry, with a demonstrable interest in animation.
- A keen eye for illustrator, designer and director talentand an established network.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (demonstrate ability to communicate confidently to team, Directors, Producers etc).
- Experience in creative development of animation and film treatments.
- Attention to detail.
- Highly organised and proactive, able to work across multiple projects.
- An ability to work from a verbal brief or conversation.
- Be a self starter with the ability to work independently and as a key part of a team.
