Nexus Media Group (NMG) is a leading London‑based media and events company operating across the healthcare and education sectors. We are recruiting a Junior Copy Editor with a passion for reporting, strong attention to detail, and an enthusiasm for using AI tools to help generate ideas, angles, and high‑quality content across our portfolio of seven titles.
This is an ideal role for someone early in their editorial career who wants to develop quickly, work across multiple publications, and gain hands‑on experience in magazine production, digital publishing, and AI‑enhanced content creation.
The Role
Working closely with our editors, designers, and industry contributors, you will support the creation, editing, and delivery of content across print and digital platforms. You’ll help shape stories, refine copy, and use AI tools to accelerate research, ideation, and first‑draft generation — always applying human judgement to ensure accuracy, clarity, and tone. You will report to the Senior Copy Editor and also play a key role in coordinating magazine production, liaising with our outsourced design and production partners to keep issues on track.
Responsibilities
- Generate story ideas and first‑draft content using AI tools, guided by editorial briefs
- Edit and proof copy for clarity, accuracy, grammar, and consistency
- Support the creation of interviews, features, news stories, and sector‑focused analysis
- Assist with commissioning additional content where required
- Help manage the production workflow for both digital and print publications
- Collaborate with designers to ensure copy and visuals align
- Use Adobe InDesign to review and finalise layouts (training provided if needed)
- Upload and optimise content in CMS platforms, applying SEO best practice
- Contribute to editorial planning meetings and content calendars
- Act as a point of contact for outsourced magazine production teams and printers
- Maintain high editorial standards and a strong sense of what “good content” looks like
Requirements
- Some experience in journalism and copy editing
- Demonstrable ability to write clean, accurate copy
- Interest in using AI tools to support research, ideation, and drafting
- Familiarity with CMS platforms
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines
- Confidence speaking with senior stakeholders (CxO‑level interviews supported by editors)
- Experience or interest in healthcare or education sectors is beneficial but not essential
- A genuine enthusiasm for magazines, digital publishing, and editorial craft
What We Offer
- Full training and ongoing support
- Exposure to all stages of magazine and digital content production
- Opportunity to build a strong portfolio across respected B2B titles
- A collaborative, ambitious editorial environment
