Nexus Media Group (NMG), the leading London-based media and events business focusing on the healthcare and education sectors, is recruiting a copy editor to work across all our titles. We are looking for an experienced copy editor to work with our editorial team, designers, and industry experts/guest editors to generate content and features across our 7x titles. The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B publishing, have embraced modern technology such as AI and content management systems, be collegiate, and have a track record of pragmatically generating high-quality copy to time. This role will also take responsibility for helping to project manage and coordinate our magazine production alongside our outsourced designers/production - a demonstrable background and affinity with magazine productions is a prerequisite.
Responsibilities
- Reporting on market activity
- Writing interviews and features
- Commissioning additional content
- Taking full responsibility for online and physical publication
- Edit and proof content written by reporters and editors for clarity, accuracy, and consistency
- Ensure all copy is brand-appropriate and meets legal standards
- Collaborate with designers to align visuals and content, including image use and layout
- Use Adobe InDesign to edit and finalise layouts for both digital and print publications
- Apply SEO principles to content to ensure digital discoverability
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to tailor content for target audiences
- Maintain high standards across all platforms, understanding what 'good content' looks like
- Contribute to content planning discussions
- Working with outsource magazine production agencies and printers as first point of contact
Requirements
- Demonstrable track record as a journalist
- Demonstrable track record supporting and coordinating magazine production
- Comfortable conducting CxO-level interviews
- Experience of using AI to leverage content production
- Experience in either healthcare or education sectors is a positive but not required
- Proficient at using CMS systems
Full support and regular training will be given to the successful candidate to ensure they have all they need to carry out their duties. Competitive salary commensurate with experience, 6-month contract with the possibility of temp to perm.
