Enable Scotland is an award-winning social care charity. Personal Assistants (Support Workers) play a crucial role in making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same, but you will be supporting someone who requires assistance to achieve their goals and outcomes.
Each person we support has different requirements, so your role may include:
- Assisting with various aspects of personal care
- Moving and handling
- Positive behavioural support
- Expanding social networks and connections
Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and aspirations of the people we support are met.
Logan is a young man who lives alone in his two-storey home in Greenock. He requires support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including overnight support. The support includes personal care, getting Logan ready for the day, and assistance with medication and meals. Logan prefers to stick to the same routines in his daily life, including a daily visit to a local train station and enjoying playback of his favourite stories from YouTube. In the evening, he loves spending time playing with his iPad in his chill-out room.
