Our Client is a global organisation with offices in the City of London. They are looking to recruit a Senior Accountant with at least 5 to 7 years PQE with an ACCA.
Summary Profile:
- Support VAT manager, organise the VAT return process and complete VAT return on time.
- Respond to VAT queries from Company offices and group companies.
- As a member of UK Tax team, support the preparation of the tax return and complete the group tax submission.
- For accounting PIC, complete the accounting closing process of SPC companies.
- Understand the Company’s business and transactions, and complete accounting treatments in collaboration with accounting managers and SSC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand the business activities of the company and the designated internal procedures, and be able to maintain the appropriate accounting treatment in collaboration with the SSC (Shared Service Centre) of the Group.
- Complete the necessary journal entries to close the accounting period and internal / external reporting based on the relevant accounting principles / policies.
- Complete Tax related tasks such as Corporate Income Tax and VAT return preparation together with the tax team and external tax advisers.
- Advise the business departments on accounting / tax issues.
- Monitor journal entries and tasks of more junior Accountancy staff.
- Other various tasks related to the Company’s accounting / tax matters based on instruction from the Manager / GM.
Skills / Knowledge:
- Good team player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- IT skills using Microsoft software (Excel, Word, etc.) and SAP.
- Numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to resolve complex problems within strict time constraints.
- Extensive accounting and / or tax experience (particularly VAT) for more than 5 years.
Education:
- Preferably an undergraduate or equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting, Maths, Statistics, Business or Economics.
- Accountancy qualifications, i.e., ACCA, ACA or CIMA.
The position is hybrid and based in the office in St Paul’s London 3 days a week. Salary will be in the range of 50K - 65K.
