<b>Job Description</b><br> <br>MS SQL Server DBA Database Administrator – Investment Bank – Canary Wharf – London<br> <br> Our Client is an International Bank with offices in Canary Wharf London.<br><br>They are now looking to recruit a Senior MS SQL Server DBA with at least 5 years expertise.<br> <br> Although the role is for a Senior MS SQL Server DBA – the Client would like you to have a background in Data Warehousing.<br> <br> As MS SQL Server DBA with Application Support you will be involved with developing and implementing solutions for the banks financial systems.<br> <br> As an MS SQL Server DBA role will involve the following:<br> <br> Ensure the integrity, security and accuracy of production database environment, ensuring good performance of the dependent applications. <br><br>Plan and implement operating procedures for backup of database and recovery of database information. <br><br>Develops database-related application development standards covering database creation, software placement, storage and auditing.<br><br>Ensures the integrity of the recovery system at all times. Initiates formal testing of the recovery system. <br><br>Develops database procedures as necessary to enhance the application suite as required. <br><br>Responds to, resolves and documents support calls for the production and test applications. <br><br>Maintains to a high standard documentation supporting the build, maintenance and operational procedures of the database environment. <br><br>Acts as the technical liaison between database operations and vendor support.<br><br>Performs other related duties as assigned. <br><br>You must have at least 5 to 7 years solid expertise as a MS SQL Server DBA – Database Administrator.<br> <br>Must have the Microsoft SQL Server Administration (Enterprise Edition) experience.<br><br>High Level T-SQL programming (SP, Functions, Triggers).<br> <br>Operation, design and implementation experience of Mirroring, Log Shipping and SQL Server Replication.<br> <br>SQL Reporting services and Analysis services maintenance and tuning.<br><br>Configuration and operation of clustered database Servers using external storage.<br> Scripting stored procedures.<br> Security concepts of database management.<br> Change management concepts and application<br><br>The role will be to work as a MS SQL DBA with an element of supporting financial applications.<br><br>Salary for this role is negotiable – but is expected to be in the range £55K – £70K + benefits.<br><br>Please send your CV's to us in MS Word format.
