Are you looking for a dynamic leadership role within Primary Care? Nexus Health Group is one of the largest single list GP providers in the country serving over 75,000 patients in Southeast London. If you are an experienced Primary Care Manager, we'd love to hear from you.

The Senior Operations Manager will oversee the delivery of non‑clinical management at 8 practice sites (supported by local management teams), as well as our back office teams. You’ll be responsible for the successful delivery of our premises and professional standards targets. You’ll join a well‑established Senior Management Team, and report to our Director of Services and our GP Partners.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide leadership and line management to the Cluster Service Managers, Service Development Manager and Centralised Functions Manager.
  • Deliver services across Nexus and support to the Director of Operations and Services to ensure effective day‑to‑day running of the organisation.
  • Leadership and operational oversight across 8 GP practice sites.
  • Ensuring premises and professional standards targets are met.
  • Line management of multidisciplinary teams and local managerial staff.
  • Supporting maintenance of clinical systems such as EMIS.
  • Delivering on performance targets and KPIs.
  • Providing support to the Senior Management Team and Director of Services.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree or equivalent professional level.
  • Evidence of post‑qualifying and continuing professional development.
  • Demonstrable specialist knowledge in primary care.
  • Evidence of meeting challenging targets.
  • Understanding of NHS structure and organisation and targets.
  • Understanding of current developments within the NHS.
  • Understanding of IT/Data systems applicable to Primary Care.
  • Knowledge of IT statutory requirements.
  • Knowledge of Emergency Planning.
  • Knowledge of Business Continuity.
  • Knowledge of organisational needs for Health and Safety.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of relevant strategies.

About us

Nexus was formed in 2016 with the merging of established local practices in Southwark. We look after a practice population of more than 76,000 patients spread across our 8 sites. Our clinical approach is based on a foundation of clinical excellence, clinical leadership, and clinical governance shaped by the needs and challenges of our local population. We are a well recognised training organisation for future GPs and nurses. We are focused on the learning and development of our clinical and non‑clinical staff.

We operate 8 GP practice sites across North Southwark that are geographically close and well served by local transport hubs at London Bridge, Elephant & Castle and Canada Water. We share a single patient list but our patients are attached to a specific site and are looked after by local multidisciplinary teams which include GPs, Nurses, Physicians Assistants, Paramedics, ANPs and Pharmacists. Our site‑based teams are supported by Managers and local administration staff. Our GP Partners have overall clinical and administrative responsibility for Nexus Health Group and are supported by a Senior Management Team and centralised HR, IT, clinical administration functions. Nexus works closely with our local PCN and 2 of our GP Partners are PCN clinical directors.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a proven track record of delivering on targets in a primary care environment.
