This is a great opportunity to join a leading, independent city centre Lettings Agency who have built up an impressive reputation over many years which has led them to being a highly respected brand in the area. They are looking for an experienced Lettings Manager who will be responsible for the day to day operation of the lettings department including managing 5 staff, business generation, valuations, training and coaching staff members, ensuring compliance, client care and manage long term existing relationships with landlords and tenants.
Main Duties and responsibilities
- Creating and maintaining strong relationships with landlords, tenants and key stakeholders
- Overseeing a portfolio of circa 375 properties ensuring effective management and compliance
- Drive revenue and look for new and innovative ways to increase the overall lettings business and revenue stream
- Attending and instructing lettings valuations with property market knowledge
- Oversight of onboarding new stock
- Supporting, empowering and guiding the team to achieve personal and branch goals
- Training and development of the lettings team
- Carry out 1:1 meetings with the lettings team and setting targets and recognising achievements
- Improving and implementing processes
- Management of escalations from landlords and tenants
- Stay informed and up to date on legislation and upcoming changes, and adapting the operation and training the team, as required
- Day to day management and supervision of staff, including performance management, motivation and resource planning
- Overseeing general office operations to ensure efficiency, organisation and a high standard of presentation
- Managing workloads and task allocation across the team to ensure service levels are maintained
- Ensuring office compliance, systems and procedures are consistently followed by all team members
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and retention of staff within the lettings team
Key skills and experience required
Essential
- Proven experience in a lettings management or senior lettings role
- Strong knowledge of the local property market and lettings legislation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build strong professional relationships with tenants and landlords
- Experienced at listings' valuation, negotiation and instructions and driving new business
- Proactive and results-driven, with a focus on delivering exceptional service
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Proficient in using property management software and Microsoft Excel
- Flexibility to travel for the needs of the role, own car is required
Desirable
- Property management experience
- ARLA/Propertymark qualification
