The Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Technical Supervisor to join a prestigous Central London contract, overseeing the delivery of hard facilities management servies across two flagship commercial buildings in the St James' Market estate.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Services Engineer or Supervisor looking to take the next step into a leadership role, or for an established Technical Supervisor seeking to join one of London's most prestigious property portfolios.
Reporting to the Contract Management team, you will be responsible for leading a team of four Shift Engineers and one Apprentice, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of planned and reactive maintenance while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and customer service.
Key Responsibilties
You will provide day-to-day technical leadership across the estate, ensuring engineering activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with contractual services.
Working closely with the management team, you will plan and coordinate planned preventative maintenance, oversee reactive works and ensure statutory compliance is maintained across all building systems.
The role will involve supervising engineers, allocating workloads, providing technical support and mentoring team members, including supportin the development of an Apprentice Engineer.
You will monitor contractor performance, review completed works, manage permits where required and ensure all maintenance documentation is completed accurately through the CAFM system.
A key part of the role will be building strong relationships with the client and occupiers, providing a professional service while ensuring any technical issues are resolved promptly.
You will also support continuous improvement initiatives, identify opportunities to improve building performance and assist with the planning of minor works where required.
About You
We're looking for a technically strong Building Services professional with previous experience working within a commercial building or prestigious client environment.
You will have experience supervising engineers or leading maintenance teams and possess a strong understanding of both planned and reactive maintenance within a hard FM environment.
Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, together with the ability to prioritise workloads and provide technical guidance to a multi-skilled engineering team.
Candidates with experience within high-end commercial offices, trophy assets, mixed-use developments or critical environments will be highly regarded.
Qualifications & Experience
- A recognised Mechanical or Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
- Previous experience within commercial building services or hard facilities management.
- Experience supervising engineering teams or acting as a Lead Engineer or Technical Supervisor.
- A good understanding of statutory compliance, planned preventative maintenance and building services operations.
- Strong fault-finding and technical problem-solving skills.
- Experience using CAFM systems and completing compliance documentation.
- Excellent customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.
