Data Centre Engineering Supervisor
Location: Slough Salary: £57,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm Contract: Permanent
Nexus Careers is working with a leading data centre and critical facilities provider to recruit an experienced Engineering Supervisor for a high-profile site in Slough.
This is a predominantly hands-off supervisory role, although some technical and hands-on involvement will be required when operationally necessary.
The position offers excellent exposure within the business and a genuine route into middle management.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily delivery of engineering and maintenance services.
- Lead, support and develop a team of electrical and mechanical engineers.
- Allocate planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Provide technical guidance and occasional hands-on support.
- Manage subcontractors and specialist service providers.
- Oversee permits, RAMS, isolations and safe systems of work.
- Support LV and HV switching activities.
- Monitor completion of planned preventive maintenance.
- Assist with fault finding, incident response and root-cause investigations.
- Maintain accurate engineering records, reports and compliance documentation.
- Attend client meetings and provide operational updates.
- Identify opportunities to improve site reliability and performance.
- Candidate Requirements
- Strong technical background within electrical, mechanical or building services engineering.
- Previous supervisory, team-leading or senior engineering experience.
- Experience within a data centre, critical environment or technical facilities setting.
- Good understanding of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
- LV switching experience is highly desirable.
- HV switching experience or HV Authorised Person status would be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of permits, compliance and safe systems of work.
- Relevant technical or engineering qualifications.
- Ability to lead a team while remaining technically credible.
