We're recruiting on behalf of a leading Facilities Management provider for a Lead Building Services Engineer to oversee engineering operations across a flagship commercial estate in Central London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Lead Engineer to take ownership of a portfolio of 14 high profile commercial buildings, managing a team of five engineers while remaining technically involved.

The Role

You'll be responsible for delivering a first-class maintenance service across a prestigious multi-building estate, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

The role offers a great balance between leadership and technical work with a mix of team leadership and operational management and hands-on mechanical engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of five Building Services Engineers.
  • Manage engineering activities across a portfolio of 14 commercial buildings.
  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
  • Act as the technical lead for mechanical building services.
  • Allocate workloads and ensure service delivery meets contractual KPIs.
  • Carry out hands-on maintenance and fault finding where required.
  • Manage subcontractors and specialist contractors.
  • Ensure statutory compliance, permits to work and health & safety standards are maintained.
  • Build strong relationships with the client and site stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering performance and service delivery.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Lead Building Services Engineer or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Strong mechanical bias within commercial building services.
  • Experience managing engineers within a live commercial environment.
