The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fire Alarm Installer to join our team, covering Surrey and the surrounding, and areas. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and commissioning fire alarm systems across a range of commercial and residential sites. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive professional looking to develop their skills in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Installing fire alarm systems, including wiring, devices, and control panels, to industry standards and regulations.
- Testing and commissioning new installations to ensure they are fully operational and compliant.
- Conducting fault finding and rectifying any issues with fire alarm systems.
- Providing technical support and guidance to customers and clients.
- Maintaining accurate records of all installations, tests, and commissioning activities.
- Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Collaborating with other engineers and departments to ensure seamless project delivery.
- As a Fire Alarm Installation Engineer for EMCOR UK you will undertake the installation of large and small Fire (Detection Alarms, Aspirating, PA/VA, & FT/DR) & Security (Access Control, CCTV, ANPR, & IDS) systems with the quality of an experienced electrician.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the installation of fire alarm systems.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm regulations and industry standards.
- Relevant qualifications such as FIA units or equivalent in fire alarm installation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to travel across London, the M25, and surrounding areas.
- Proven experience within a similar role or environment.
- Educated to GCSE level with City & Guilds or equivalent in installation of electronic equipment.
- City and Guilds 236 pts 1&2 electrical installation or equivalent.
- 17th/18th Edition Electrical qualification
- Proven experience on working in industrial environments
- Valid full driving licence, preferably clean.
- A team player with the ability to work from their own initiative.
- Prepared to work additional hours if and when reasonably requested
- Proven knowledge on relevant Fire standards BS 5839
