Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join a leading global Facilities Management business on a prestigious commercial site in Regent Street, London. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer who is looking to step further into supervision, client-facing delivery and day-to-day engineering management. The role is predominantly hands-off, focusing on contractor management, permit control, PPM allocation, compliance, client interaction and ensuring engineering standards are maintained across the building. However, there will still be occasions where you will be expected to support the team hands-on when required.
The Role
As the Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance operation on site, ensuring all planned and reactive works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will act as a key point of contact between the engineering team, contractors, client representatives and management, ensuring smooth delivery of hard services across the building.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising the on-site engineering team and supporting daily operational delivery
- Delegating PPMs and reactive tasks to engineers
- Managing subcontractors and ensuring works are completed safely and correctly
- Issuing and controlling permits to work
- Ensuring all compliance, statutory and health & safety requirements are met
- Monitoring PPM completion, remedial works and outstanding actions
- Supporting engineers with technical queries and occasional hands-on works
- Liaising with the client and internal management team
- Ensuring all works are accurately recorded on the CAFM system
- Carrying out site audits, plant room inspections and quality checks
- Supporting with RAMS review, contractor inductions and toolbox talks
- Helping drive high engineering standards across the building
Requirements
- Strong background in building services maintenance
- Electrical or mechanical qualifications preferred
- Experience working within commercial buildings, corporate environments or high-profile sites
- Previous supervisory, lead engineer or senior engineer experience
- Good understanding of permits, RAMS, compliance and health & safety processes
- Experience managing contractors and delegating works
- Strong communication skills and a professional, client-facing approach
- Comfortable supporting hands-on when required
- Good working knowledge of PPMs, reactive maintenance and CAFM systems
