Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Whitechapel, East London (site-based)
Salary: £48,000
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Hours: Days only, Monday to Friday
About the Role
We're recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join the in-house engineering team at a leading London university. You'll be based on their Whitechapel campus, looking after a varied estate of academic, research and teaching buildings, all within a short walk of each other, so no travelling between sites.
This is an electrically biased role covering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across a wide range of building services systems and plant. It's a great opportunity for an engineer who wants variety, a settled day-shift pattern and the stability of working for a well-established organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance across multiple buildings on the campus
- Maintaining and fault-finding on LV distribution, switchgear, distribution boards and small power
- Maintaining lighting and lighting controls, including emergency lighting testing
- Supporting maintenance of life safety systems such as fire alarms and standby generators
- Carrying out electrical works on mechanical plant including AHUs, FCUs, pumps and HVAC control panels
- Using the BMS to monitor plant and diagnose faults, and completing job records accurately
Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrical Engineering (essential)
- 18th Edition and building services or facilities maintenance experience (desirable)
- Good fault-finding skills and a proactive approach
