Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Control Room Shift Engineer to join a leading data centre. We are looking for experienced individuals to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot critical systems, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to high safety standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage critical infrastructure systems from the control room, including HVAC, electrical, and BMS/EMS systems.
- Respond to alarms and critical incidents, performing swift and accurate assessments and resolutions.
- Conduct regular inspections, testing, and fault-finding on systems to ensure optimal functionality and uptime.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and shift reports in accordance with compliance and operational standards.
- Communicate effectively with maintenance teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth handovers between shifts.
- Participate in training to stay current on safety protocols, operational procedures, and technical updates.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Background in Armed Forces or similar, with experience in critical or control room settings.
- Knowledge of critical data centre systems such as power distribution, generators, UPS, fire safety, and cooling systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle emergencies and make timely decisions.
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS).
