Nexus Careers is working with a leading data centre and critical facilities provider to recruit an experienced Area General Manager to oversee engineering operations across a cluster of data centres in Berkshire. This is a senior technical leadership role with responsibility for engineering performance, operational delivery, people management and client relationships across multiple critical sites. The successful candidate must come from a strong technical engineering background and have proven experience managing teams and services within data centres, critical environments or complex building services operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee engineering operations across a cluster of data centre sites.
- Lead and develop Data Centre Managers, Engineering Managers and technical teams.
- Ensure critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure is maintained safely and reliably.
- Drive engineering performance, resilience and operational consistency across the portfolio.
- Oversee planned, reactive, statutory and lifecycle maintenance programmes.
- Manage technical incidents, escalations and root-cause investigations.
- Ensure compliance with permits, safe systems of work and operational procedures.
- Monitor performance against contractual obligations.
