Area General Manager Berkshire/London £85,000-£95,000 + Car Allowance + Discretionary Bonus

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Area General Manager to oversee the delivery of hard facilities management services across a portfolio of critical sites.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving operational excellence, leading multiple site teams, maintaining exceptional client relationships and ensuring contractual performance across a multi-site portfolio.

This role would suit an experienced Area General Manager with a strong background in technical building services in critical environments.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will take full operational responsibility for approximately five sites, ensuring safe, compliant and commercially successful service delivery.

Key responsibilities include

  • Leading and developing a team of Site Managers, Supervisors and Engineering teams across multiple locations.
  • Taking ownership of operational performance, contractual compliance and client satisfaction.
  • Managing profit and loss, budgets and financial performance across the portfolio.
  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders and senior client representatives.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies.
  • Ensuring statutory compliance, health & safety and company policies are maintained across all sites.
  • Supporting mobilisation projects, contract growth and service improvements where required.
  • Reviewing KPIs and SLAs, implementing action plans where necessary to improve performance.
  • Managing subcontractor performance and ensuring service standards are consistently achieved.
  • Coaching and mentoring management teams to develop future leaders.
  • Working collaboratively with commercial, HR and support functions to deliver business objectives.

About You

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate

  • Previous experience managing multiple critical FM sites.
  • Strong leadership experience across large engineering teams.
  • Excellent commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and P&L.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and statutory compliance.
  • A technical background within Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services within critical site.
