We are working with a leading global facilities management organisation to appoint an experienced Account Director to take senior responsibility for the delivery and performance of a major FM account in London. This is a confidential appointment and further details regarding the client, account and portfolio will be shared with shortlisted candidates at the appropriate stage of the recruitment process.
The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the operational, commercial and strategic performance of the account, leading a sizeable facilities management operation and ensuring consistently high standards of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- You will provide senior leadership across the account, ensuring operational performance, client satisfaction, financial targets and contractual obligations are achieved.
- The role will involve developing and maintaining strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, acting as the primary escalation point and providing strategic advice on facilities management, service delivery and continuous improvement.
- You will have overall responsibility for account performance, including financial management, budgeting, forecasting, resource planning and commercial performance.
- You will lead and develop senior management and operational teams, creating a high-performing culture focused on customer service, compliance, safety and operational excellence.
- You will oversee the delivery of hard and soft FM services, ensuring agreed KPIs, SLAs and contractual requirements are consistently achieved.
- The position will also involve identifying opportunities to improve service delivery, drive efficiencies and develop the account commercially.
- You will manage key suppliers and strategic subcontractors, ensuring performance, value for money and contractual compliance are maintained.
- Health & safety, statutory compliance, risk management and governance will be central to the role, with responsibility for ensuring appropriate standards are maintained across the account.
- You will represent the organisation at senior client meetings and provide regular performance and strategic reports to internal leadership.
About You
We are looking for an established senior Facilities Management professional with significant experience managing large, complex FM contracts or client accounts. You will ideally have held a position such as Account Director, Account Manager, Contract Director, Contract Manager, Regional Director or Senior Facilities Manager, with responsibility for significant operational and commercial performance. Experience managing large teams, multiple stakeholders and complex contractual environments is essential. You should have strong commercial awareness and a proven track record of managing budgets, improving account performance and developing client relationships. Experience working with a major FM provider, property services organisation or large corporate occupier would be highly advantageous.
Qualifications & Experience
A relevant qualification in Facilities Management, Building Services Engineering, Construction, Business or a related discipline would be advantageous. Professional membership of IWFM, CIBSE, RICS or another relevant professional body would be beneficial. Candidates must come from a hands-on technical background in engineering. Candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of hard FM, soft FM, statutory compliance, health & safety, commercial management and contract performance.
What's on Offer
This role offers a salary between £90,000-£100,000, including car allowance and an annual bonus along with all the usual benefits included in a senior position within a major FM business.
