The Director of HSSEQ will lead the global Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality function for our client’s Offshore Wind business. This role is responsible for developing and executing a world-class HSSEQ strategy that spans the full offshore wind lifecycle—from design and manufacturing to transportation, offshore installation, commissioning, and operations & maintenance (O&M).

This position will drive HSSEQ performance and culture across internal teams, subcontractors, and the supply chain while ensuring strict compliance with international standards and local regulations. The ideal candidate is a strategic and operational leader with deep industry knowledge, particularly in the high-risk, complex environment of offshore wind.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the global HSSEQ strategy for the offshore wind business unit. Embed HSSEQ as a core pillar of operational excellence and business performance. Advise executive leadership on HSSEQ risk, compliance, and performance.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with international and regional HSSEQ standards, certifications, and regulations (e.g., ISO 45001, 14001). Maintain and evolve the integrated HSSEQ management system. Ensure readiness for and oversight of external audits and certifications.
  • Operational Risk & Performance: Oversee HSSEQ across the value chain: design, manufacturing, supply chain, offshore logistics, installation, and O&M. Lead incident investigation, root cause analysis, and risk mitigation processes. Drive a data-led approach to HSSEQ performance monitoring using KPIs, dashboards, and predictive analytics.
  • Security Management: Collaborate with internal security and crisis response teams to implement asset protection strategies in offshore and port-side operations. Integrate security risk management with overall project risk frameworks.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead and grow a global, multidisciplinary HSSEQ team. Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous learning across all levels of the organization.
  • Stakeholder & Client Engagement: Serve as the HSSEQ representative in client meetings, JV partnerships, regulatory forums, and industry associations. Support commercial teams in prequalification, bidding, and contract negotiations with robust HSSEQ input.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of progressive HSSEQ leadership experience, including at least 5 years in offshore wind or large-scale industrial energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of international maritime safety laws, offshore logistics, and supply chain operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional and multicultural teams across geographies.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
