The Role
We are hiring a Part-Time COO to sit at the center of NextStep and drive the business forward. This role is a one-person operating engine.
You will own product, operations, growth, marketing, and early sales, working directly with the founders to translate strategy into tangible outcomes. It is hands-on, scrappy, and high-autonomy, ideal for someone who learns quickly, thrives in ambiguity, and wants to build a company from the ground up.
This position is designed as a stepping stone to a full-time COO or CEO role after fundraising, with significant ownership and long-term leadership potential.
Time commitment:
10–20 hours per week

Remote, UK time zone ideally

8–12 weeks, ideally until first fundraising round

What You\'ll Do
This role requires a highly ambitious, adaptable individual who thrives in a fast paced, high-intensity environment.
Product
• Own the product roadmap end-to-end: signup flows, AI matching engine, screening/interview workflows, and employer dashboards.
• Translate customer and market needs into product features.
• Ensure user experience is frictionless for both candidates and companies.
Growth and GTM
• Develop and execute growth strategy to scale both sides of the platform (consultants and employers).
• Lead acquisition, onboarding, and engagement campaigns.
• Experiment with channels and partnerships to expand reach
Operations
• Work with founders on fundraising, investor updates, and business planning.
• Set up scalable processes to ensure smooth operations as the platform grows.
What You Bring
• Proven operator with experience scaling a B2B/B2C marketplace or SaaS product.
• Strong product management background; able to bridge strategy with execution.
• Track record in growth - user acquisition, funnel optimization, partnerships.
• Data-driven decision maker, comfortable with metrics and experimentation.
• Startup/scale-up experience; thrives in ambiguity and moving fast.
• Available 2–3 days per week, with flexibility to scale up as NextStep grows.
