About the Company

Our client is a PE-backed healthcare services business headquartered in London, delivering diagnostic imaging, specialist outpatient services, and occupational health solutions to NHS trusts, integrated care boards, and corporate clients across England and Wales. Backed by a healthcare-focused infrastructure fund, the business has revenues of £80m and is executing an ambitious growth strategy, expanding its NHS contract base, building a direct-to-employer occupational health offering, and evaluating acquisitions in adjacent service lines.

The Role

As Head of Commercial, you will own the business development and account management functions, growing NHS contract revenues, winning new corporate clients, and building the commercial infrastructure that enables sustainable growth. Reporting to the CEO, you will play a central role in the leadership team and represent the business in high-stakes commercial negotiations.

What You'll Do

  • Define and execute the commercial strategy across NHS and private sector channels, including segmentation, targeting, and proposition development.
  • Lead and develop a commercial team of business development managers and account leads.
  • Own relationships with key NHS procurement leads, ICBs, and commissioning bodies, building long-term partnerships that translate into contract wins and renewals.
  • Develop the corporate occupational health offering, defining the go-to-market approach, pricing model, and sales motion from scratch.
  • Track and report commercial performance to the CEO and PE Board, maintaining a clear view of pipeline, conversion, and revenue visibility.

What We're Looking For

  • 8–12 years of experience in commercial, sales, or business development roles, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Prior experience selling to or contracting with NHS bodies, ICBs, or healthcare commissioners is strongly preferred.
  • Track record of building and managing commercial teams and owning revenue targets.
  • Commercially strategic and operationally capable, able to work at the level of both board presentations and individual deal negotiations.
  • Experience in healthcare services, diagnostics, or health technology is a significant advantage.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of £100,000 – £130,000, depending on experience.
  • Performance bonus tied to revenue and contract targets.
  • Equity co-investment opportunity aligned with the PE fund.
  • Private health cover, enhanced pension, and hybrid working from London.
