Security Officer – Cheltenham We are currently recruiting for SIA Licensed Security Officers to join our client\’s team at a prestigious commercial site in Cheltenham. Applicants must hold a valid SIA licence to be considered for this role. Shift patterns will include days, nights and weekends. You must be flexible and able to work across these hours as scheduling dictates. This is an excellent opportunity for professional, reliable, and well-presented individuals who take pride in delivering a high standard of security. The Role This role is based on a rota system and will include both day and night shifts, with weekend cover as required. The site requires active, visible security. You will be expected to carry out regular foot patrols of the premises throughout your shift, ensuring all areas are checked, safe, and secure. Patrols must be logged accurately and presented to management when required. In addition to patrolling, you will undertake gatehouse duties, monitoring and controlling access for staff, contractors, and visitors. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential, as you will often be the first point of contact on site. Attention to detail, professionalism, and accurate reporting are critical to success in this role. Key Responsibilities * Carrying out regular, thorough foot patrols of the site, covering both internal and external areas * Ensuring all patrol checks are completed, logged, and available for management review * Performing gatehouse duties including access control, visitor sign-in/out, and contractor management * Monitoring site activity and responding swiftly to any incidents or irregularities * Completing accurate daily reports, including uploading photographs and recording activity in detail * Acting as a professional, visible deterrent and maintaining a strong on-site presence * Communicating effectively with site management, staff, and contractors, ensuring clear handovers between shifts * Responding to emergencies, liaising with emergency services where required Requirements * Valid SIA licence – essential. Do not apply without a valid licence. * Minimum of 2 years’ proven security experience on a commercial site, with regular patrol duties * Physically fit and able to conduct patrols across large premises for the duration of shifts * Excellent communication skills, fluent spoken and written English * Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook * Right to work in the UK (essential) * CCTV licence desirable but not essential * Valid driving licence preferred * Personable, professional, and well-presented at all times * High attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely * Must be able to reliably commute to Cheltenham
