We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with a background in temporary recruitment and client sales to join Nextra Recruitment. This role combines sales and delivery. You’ll be responsible for winning new business across key sectors such as facilities management, logistics, security, and warehousing, while also managing the full temp recruitment process — sourcing candidates, placing them, and maintaining strong client relationships. We’re not looking for someone who sits behind a screen all day. This role is about getting out there, building your network, meeting prospect clients face to face, understanding their needs, and becoming a trusted recruitment partner. You’ll also be hands-on with your candidate pool — from CV sourcing to placements and ongoing aftercare. You’ll be part of a supportive team, working closely with directors, and expected to attend regular meetings at our Borehamwood office. Key Responsibilities * Win new business through face-to-face meetings, outbound calls, networking, and site visits * Develop and maintain strong client relationships with regular follow-ups and on-site presence * Deliver full-cycle temp recruitment: sourcing, screening, placing, and retaining candidates * Respond quickly to urgent staffing needs, particularly in fast-moving sectors * Build a reliable pipeline of work-ready candidates across key roles * Hit agreed KPIs and targets in both sales and placements * Maintain up-to-date records, compliance checks, and client documentation * Represent Nextra professionally at all times – both in the field and at the desk * Attend in-person meetings at Borehamwood HQ with the senior team What We’re Looking For * Proven experience in both temporary recruitment and business development * Confident in face-to-face client meetings and winning new accounts * Experience placing temp staff in FM, logistics, warehousing, or security * Self-motivated and able to work independently * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Commercially aware with the ability to manage multiple accounts and roles * UK driving licence and access to a vehicle * Able to travel to Borehamwood regularly for team meetings What You’ll Get * Competitive salary + commission * Car allowance for client visits and business development * A key role in a growing recruitment business backed by a wider group * Direct support from directors and shared admin where needed * Opportunity to grow your own desk and shape how we deliver recruitment in your sector * Access to a wide candidate pool and established marketing support
