NextPharma is seeking a dynamic leader to drive the evolution and enhancement of our Engineering & Maintenance function. This is a dual leadership role that requires both strategic oversight and hands-on technical expertise.
Role Overview
The Global Engineering Global Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Project Management: Managing the most critical and/or strategic projects within NextPharma’s capex portfolio – ensuring they are delivered on-time, on-budget and in-full.
- Engineering Leadership: Managing the Group’s Capex & Maintenance processes, budget and delivery of reliable & robust engineering and maintenance practices; whilst driving operational excellence across equipment, utilities, and facilities.
This role requires strong leadership, regulatory expertise, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams while ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Leadership: Establish and maintain Group-wide guideline, policies, procedures, and technical standards. Ensure compliance with all relevant national and local regulations. Management of project, program and stakeholder to ensure on-time, on-budget and in-full project delivery. Conduct internal audits, inspections, and risk assessments. Benchmark practices against pharmaceutical industry standards. Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Drive adoption of tools and systems for continuous improvement.
- Engineering Leadership (Capex & Maintenance): Oversee the Group’s Capex budget (creation, adherence, and management). Lead capital project delivery, contractor management, and engineering processes. Develop and implement robust maintenance strategies for equipment and utilities. Ensure all engineering activities meet regulatory, validation, and audit requirements. Drive continuous improvement in asset reliability, safety, and operational performance. Negotiate and manage engineering and maintenance contracts. Maintain accurate records, metrics, and documentation. Provide reporting and insights to support continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Sciences or Engineering (required).
- Experience (5–10 years minimum): Proven leadership in Engineering within regulated industries (pharmaceutical, FMCG, chemical, or biotechnology).
- Demonstrated success in managing capital projects and maintenance programs at site or group level.
- Experience in process safety, hazardous materials management, and risk assessment.
- Strong influencing, communication, and presentation skills at all organizational levels.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex priorities.
- Proficiency in EHS/engineering systems and MS Office.
- Organized, methodical, and able to work independently.
- Flexibility to participate in out-of-hours on-call duties.
