Key Responsibilities
- Business partner for the fund-level finance team – ensuring delivery of information and service in line with the agreed Service Level Agreement.
- Review and challenge management accounts provided by external accountants.
- Report on the financial performance of the portfolios at monthly Customer Board meetings.
- Deal with all queries – taking ownership of requests and issues, creating stakeholder goodwill by providing appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
- Project manage the portfolio statutory audits; liaising with external auditors, external accountants and fund-level finance teams as required.
- Project manage the annual budget process.
- Review consolidated monthly management account information.
- Review statutory financial statements and ensure all statutory filing requirements are met.
- Prepare and review technical accounting papers for acquisitions, disposals, restructures and other significant transactions.
- Support hedge accounting, impairment reviews and acquisition accounting.
- Prepare and review cash flow forecasts and funding requirements.
- Support banking covenant reporting and bank reporting requirements.
- Oversee the review of key balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany balances, shareholder loans, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, provisions and other significant balance sheet items.
- Manage payment approvals as appropriate.
- Ensure a robust control environment is present throughout the portfolio. This could involve insisting on the utilisation of OEGEN’s systems for new assets/projects.
- Be a valued business partner and build and maintain good working relationships with internal and
- external stakeholders
- Identify system improvements and take ownership of driving change across the team. This will involve working closely with external accountants to improve current processes across the portfolio.
- Ad hoc project work as required.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with at least 3 years post qualification experience (preferably gained in a relevant role).
- Good technical knowledge of UK GAAP.
- Experience of complex consolidations and acquisition accounting.
- Experience managing statutory reporting and external audits.
- Highly organised, able to plan ahead to deliver accurate information to tight reporting deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to work well with different teams and manage a range of different stakeholders
- Self-motivated and aspirational, comfortable working in a fast-paced changing environment
