Primary Teaching Assistant – Rothwell, Leeds (LS26)

NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Rothwell, Leeds (LS26).

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant looking for supply/temporary work, with the potential for the role to develop into a long-term position for the right candidate.

The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher to support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required
  • Helping pupils engage with their learning and reach their potential
  • Supporting classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Assisting with preparing learning resources and activities
  • Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and social development
  • Working effectively as part of the wider school team
  • Supporting the school's safeguarding and behaviour policies

The successful candidate will be:

  • Confident working with primary-aged children
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Previous experience working in a school or education setting is desirable

Requirements
