The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll provide personalised support that enables pupils to access learning, build confidence and develop the skills they need both in school and beyond. No two days are the same. You’ll work closely with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, adapting your approach to meet individual learning styles while encouraging independence, communication and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support
  • Support pupils with a range of SEND and additional learning needs
  • Help pupils engage positively with learning and classroom activities
  • Encourage confidence, independence and social development
  • Promote emotional wellbeing through positive and consistent support
  • Build trusting, professional relationships with pupils
  • Adapt learning strategies to meet individual needs and learning styles
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and the wider school team
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
  • Celebrate every achievement, helping pupils recognise their progress and potential
