Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (September 2026 - December 2026)

Hours: Monday to Friday

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

NextGen Teachers are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEMH school for an experienced Secondary Science Teacher to join their dedicated team from September until December 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire and support young people while delivering engaging Science lessons in a supportive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Please note: This role does not offer visa sponsorship. Applications will only be considered from candidates who have the right to work in the UK and do not require sponsorship, either now or in the future.

To be considered for this role, applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and must have successfully completed their ECT induction. Unfortunately, we are not able to consider Early Career Teachers (ECTs) for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging Science lessons to secondary students, including GCSE classes, adapting learning to meet individual needs.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment for students with SEMH and additional learning needs.
  • Monitor student progress and provide targeted support to help learners achieve their potential.
  • Build strong relationships with students and promote positive behaviour, engagement and resilience.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and the wider school team to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
  • ECT induction completed (applications from current ECTs cannot be considered).
  • Experience teaching Science at Secondary level, ideally up to GCSE.
  • A passion for supporting students with SEMH, ASD or additional learning needs.
  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
  • A patient, adaptable and positive approach to teaching and learning.
  • The right to work in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship.
