NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Science Teacher to join a specialist secondary SEMH provision in the Nottingham area for a full-time, one-term placement. This exciting opportunity begins in September and runs until December, offering the chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who require additional emotional and behavioural support.
Please note the school cannot accept any ECTs or candidates without QTs for this position. The school can also not offer sponsorship as the position is only from September 2026 - December 2026.
The Role
- Full-time position (Monday to Friday)
- September β December (Autumn Term)
- Deliver AQA Entry Level 3 Science
- Teach GCSE Combined Science (Foundation Tier)
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet a range of learning needs
- Work collaboratively with support staff and the wider pastoral team to promote positive outcomes for pupils
The School
You will be joining a supportive specialist secondary provision that caters for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a nurturing environment with small class sizes, enabling staff to build strong relationships and positively impact students' academic and personal development.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Science at secondary level
- Confident delivering GCSE Foundation Science and/or Entry Level Science
- Experience working within an SEMH, alternative provision or SEND setting is desirable, although strong mainstream teachers with excellent behaviour management are encouraged to apply
- Patient, resilient and passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
