Contract: Full-time, Temporary (September - December)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Age Group: Secondary Years

Start Date: September

We are looking for a qualified Supply Secondary Science Teacher with QTS who has successfully completed their ECT induction. The successful candidate will have experience teaching GCSE Science and supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position. Applications will only be considered from candidates who have the legal right to work in the UK and do not require sponsorship, either now or in the future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging Science lessons to GCSE students, adapting learning to meet individual needs.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment for students with SEMH and ASD.
  • Monitor student progress and provide targeted support to help learners achieve their potential.
  • Build strong relationships with students and promote positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and the wider school team to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
What we’re looking for
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Science at Secondary level, ideally up to GCSE.
  • A passion for supporting students with SEMH, ASD, or additional learning needs.
  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
  • A patient, adaptable, and positive approach to teaching and learning.
