NextGen Teachers are seeking a confident, resilient, and supportive SEN Teaching Assistant for Year 4/5. You will be supporting the class teacher in a mixed Year 4/5 class, assisting all pupils with their learning, delivering small group interventions, and helping pupils who may have needs or who are working at a lower level.
The right candidate will have good academic knowledge in Primary and be extremely confident and enthusiastic.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support to a mixed Year 4/5 class, helping them access learning and engage fully in classroom activities.
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development in line with individual needs and EHCP targets.
- Adapt resources and learning approaches to promote independence, confidence, and progress.
- Work closely with the class teacher and wider team to ensure consistent support and uphold safeguarding responsibilities.
- Experience working with children with complex needs.
- A calm, patient, and consistent approach to supporting behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
- Ability to adapt learning support to meet individual needs and encourage independence.
- A team player who works effectively with teachers and external professionals.
