NextGen Teachers are working in partnership with a specialist setting in Leeds to recruit a passionate and experienced SEMH Teacher who can join their team in September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a nurturing environment, supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school provides a supportive and structured setting for learners who may have experienced barriers to education. Creativity plays a key role in engagement, supporting self-expression, emotional regulation, and re-engagement with learning—particularly through art and creative subjects at KS4.
The Role:
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons across the curriculum, with a focus on KS4 learners
- Support pupils with SEMH needs through structured, consistent, and therapeutic approaches
- Use creative and artistic strategies to promote emotional expression and wellbeing
- Build strong, positive relationships to support behaviour and engagement
- Differentiating learning to meet a wide range of needs and abilities
- Monitor and track pupil progress, celebrating small steps and achievements
- Work collaboratively with support staff, senior leaders, and external professionals
- Contribute to a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching KS4 pupils
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs or within alternative provisions

- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
