Are you a Psychology graduate with experience working with KS1-aged children and an interest in SEN, child development and Educational Psychology?

Next Gen Teachers are recruiting for a fantastic mainstream primary school in Leeds, who are looking for a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated onsite SEN provision.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on school-based experience supporting KS1 pupils with additional needs, while working alongside experienced teachers and SEN professionals.

The Role

  • Support KS1 pupils with SEN on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
  • Help children with their learning, communication, behaviour and emotional development.
  • Support personalised interventions and activities.
  • Build positive relationships and encourage confidence and independence.
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support individual pupil needs.
  • Gain valuable experience relevant to a future career in Educational Psychology.

About You

• We're looking for a Psychology graduate who

  • Has experience working with KS1-aged children.
  • Has an interest in SEN and child development.
  • Is considering a future career in Educational Psychology or a similar child-focused profession.
  • Is patient, empathetic and confident building relationships with children.
  • Has excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
  • Previous experience working with KS1 children is essential, and SEN experience is highly desirable.
