Are you a Psychology graduate with experience working with KS1-aged children and an interest in SEN, child development and Educational Psychology?
Next Gen Teachers are recruiting for a fantastic mainstream primary school in Leeds, who are looking for a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated onsite SEN provision.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on school-based experience supporting KS1 pupils with additional needs, while working alongside experienced teachers and SEN professionals.
The Role
- Support KS1 pupils with SEN on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
- Help children with their learning, communication, behaviour and emotional development.
- Support personalised interventions and activities.
- Build positive relationships and encourage confidence and independence.
- Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support individual pupil needs.
- Gain valuable experience relevant to a future career in Educational Psychology.
About You
• We're looking for a Psychology graduate who
- Has experience working with KS1-aged children.
- Has an interest in SEN and child development.
- Is considering a future career in Educational Psychology or a similar child-focused profession.
- Is patient, empathetic and confident building relationships with children.
- Has excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
- Previous experience working with KS1 children is essential, and SEN experience is highly desirable.
