About the Role
NextGen Teachers are actively recruiting qualified Secondary School Teachers with QTS across all subjects for a range of opportunities throughout West Yorkshire. We are currently working with schools looking for teachers for both permanent positions and flexible supply work, including day-to-day, short-term and long-term placements. Opportunities are available across Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Halifax, Kirklees and surrounding areas, with roles across a wide range of subjects and year groups. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons within your subject specialism
- Plan and prepare lessons in line with curriculum requirements
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of different learners
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
- Manage behaviour confidently and consistently
- Assess and monitor pupil progress where required
- Support the academic, social and emotional development of pupils
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and school leaders
- Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures and expectations
- Maintain high standards of teaching and ensure continuity of learning
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) β mandatory
- Previous experience teaching within a UK secondary school
- A recognised subject specialism
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for teaching and supporting young people
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
