We are recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support young people with special educational needs and disabilities in a rewarding and impactful role. You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality support both in and out of the classroom, including learning activities, behaviour support, and personal care where required.
Key Responsibilities- Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND to enable access to learning
- Deliver pre-planned learning activities and adapt them to meet individual needs
- Support behaviour management and promote positive engagement
- Assist with personal care and health needs, including medical and therapeutic interventions (training provided)
- Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
- Implement EHCPs, behaviour plans, and care plans
- Support pupils during lessons, break times, and off-site activities
- Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and external professionals
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality policies
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND (desirable)
- A genuine interest in supporting pupils with complex needs
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Confidence in supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
