Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: Leeds

Contract: Full time, term time only. Temporary to Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Start Date: September

Salary: £95 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)

We’re on the look out for an experienced and passionate KS2 Behaviour Support Mentor! You’ll be supporting Key Stage 2 pupils (Years 3–6), working with children with behavioural, SEN, SEMH and EHCP needs, helping them succeed both in and out of the classroom. Every day is different, working with the pupils who need the most support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide behaviour support to pupils across KS2
  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to develop social and self-regulation skills
  • Promote a safe, inclusive learning environment
  • Use de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies effectively
  • Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress and behaviour
  • Support pupils during break and lunchtime where needed
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and attend ongoing training

What we’re looking for:

  • KS2 experience supporting children with SEND, particularly SEMH needs
  • Calm, patient, and an empathetic approach to behaviour support
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confident using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional, with strong safeguarding and confidentiality awareness
  • Proactive, flexible, and resilient attitude
  • Committed to safeguarding and child welfare
