NextGen Teachers are looking for strong candidates who have previous experience supporting pupils with Complex Communication and Autism needs. You will be working within an extremely supportive school, there is strong room for growth and career progression.
Key Responsibilities:- Support pupils with complex SEND (including autism, SLD, PMLD, and communication needs) in accessing learning
- Work alongside the class teacher to deliver adapted and personalised learning activities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support, following individual EHCP targets
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
- Support pupils’ personal care needs where required, maintaining dignity and respect
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
- A caring, patient and resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND
- Experience working with children or young people with autism, learning difficulties, or communication needs (desirable but not essential)
- A positive, calm approach to behaviour support and emotional regulation
- Good communication skills when working with pupils, colleagues, and families
- A proactive attitude and ability to adapt to pupils’ individual needs
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing
