Location: East Grinstead, West Sussex (UK Driver’s license required due to location)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm

Contract: TBC, 36 weeks per year (term time with extended school holidays).

Start Date: ASAP / September 2026 for the right candidate

We are recruiting Teaching Assistants (Level 3 qualified or unqualified) to join a well‑established school supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN / SEND). This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in education, care, or support work, as well as Psychology graduates looking to gain hands‑on experience.

The Role

  • Providing general classroom support, working closely with teachers and subject leads to support pupils across mainly secondary‑aged classes.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils in the classroom across a range of subjects
  • Providing occasional 1:1 support based on individual needs
  • Assisting students with SEN / SEND, including additional learning and behavioural needs
  • Supporting engagement, confidence, and academic progress
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff

You may also have the opportunity to support students within subject areas of interest such as maths, English, art, music, or cookery. Class sizes are small, typically 5–6 pupils, allowing for a more personalised and supportive learning environment.

  • Experienced in working with children or young people with SEN / SEND, or have a strong understanding of additional needs
  • A graduate in Psychology or a related field, or have experience in care or support work
