SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Batley Contract: Full-time, Term-Time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Age Group: 5-13 years Start Date: September Salary: £92 – £95 (depending on experience)
If you’re looking for a September start and are an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for EYFS, KS1 and KS2, we’d love to hear from you! This is a great opportunity to work closely with a pupil, or small group of students aged 5–13, who have a range of learning needs including speech and language difficulties, autism, dyslexia and SEMH.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil, or small group of up to six pupils, with additional learning needs.
- Support the class teacher in delivering lessons, including assisting with planning, preparation, and adapting learning activities.
- Promote pupil progress, independence, and positive learning outcomes through tailored support and encouragement.
- Supervise and support pupils during non‑classroom times, including breaktimes, extracurricular activities, and school trips.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils while contributing to behaviour support and overall wellbeing.
What we’re looking for:
- A caring, patient, and resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, ideally supporting pupils with SEMH, autism, speech and language, or other learning difficulties.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs and contribute to a positive learning environment.
- A commitment to safeguarding, teamwork, and ongoing professional development within a specialist education setting.
