Do you have experience working with children or young people as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, Care Worker, Nursery Practitioner, Youth Worker or Healthcare Assistant? We're recruiting for a Primary Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming specialist SEMH school in Horsham.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships, supporting children's development and helping every learner achieve their potential. You'll work within small class sizes, alongside experienced teachers, therapists and specialist support staff in a well-resourced, nurturing environment where every child receives personalised support.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Helping children access learning through tailored support
  • Encouraging communication, independence and confidence
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Assisting with literacy, numeracy and classroom activities
  • Helping pupils develop social skills and life skills
  • Working alongside teachers, therapists and pastoral staff
  • Creating a safe, engaging and positive learning environment
  • Following safeguarding procedures and supporting pupils' wellbeing

We're Looking For Someone Who Has:

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN TA, Support Worker, Care Worker, Nursery Practitioner, Youth Worker or similar
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH or additional learning needs
  • A patient, calm and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine passion for helping children succeed
  • An interest in building a long-term career within specialist education
