SEMH English Teacher

Job Title: SEMH English Teacher
Location: Huddersfield
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

NextGen Teachers is proud to partner with a specialist provision in Huddersfield to recruit a passionate and resilient English Teacher with experience or strong interest in working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The Role:

As an SEMH English Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons to KS3/KS4 students with SEMH needs.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing classroom environment that promotes emotional and academic growth.
  • Collaborate closely with support staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to provide holistic support.
  • Use trauma-informed and relational approaches to behaviour management.

What We\’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS).
  • Experience working with SEMH learners or in alternative provision is essential
  • A strong understanding of how to engage and motivate vulnerable or disengaged pupils
  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine commitment to inclusive education
